1. The total current capacity of the Toughcon circular connectors depends on the maximum permissible operating temperature. The existing temperature in the circular connector is influenced by the

• number of contacts (the amperage per contact is generally reduced with increasing number of contacts)
• wire cross section (larger cross sections conduct more current and produce less heat) 
• ambient temperature (the current capacity decreases with increasing temperature).

It must be therefore noted that the total current capacity does not cause
